At CHOP of the European University Cyprus, we believe that participation in meaningful occupations is a human right, one that should be safe, affirming and accessible for everyone.
Identity Works is an innovative, role-emerging, occupational therapy program focusing on the everyday life experiences, participation and well-being of LGBTQIA+ individuals. Developed within the Occupational Therapy Program of European University Cyprus, it aims to create safer spaces where clients can explore and strengthen their identities and their expression, through occupation, while receiving affirming, evidence-based occupational therapy services.
Rooted in occupational justice, client-centered practice, and queer-affirming care, Identity Works addresses the barriers that LGBTQIA+ people and groups may face in everyday occupations, from self-care and work to participating in social and community engagement.
Through collaboration between community members, stakeholders, students and educators, the program fosters both clinical skill development and social awareness, ensuring that future occupational therapists are equipped to provide inclusive, affirming and equitable care.
The initiative reflects the university’s ongoing commitment to equality, participation, well-being and health for all.
More information coming soon. As Identity Works prepares to launch, stay tuned for updates on services, research and community partnerships.
