Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental condition that affects attention, impulse control, and activity regulation. It can present with inattention, hyperactivity, impulsivity, or a combination of these. ADHD is not a matter of motivation or effort but reflects differences in brain function and development.

These differences can affect participation in everyday life occupations, such as schoolwork, organizing tasks, social interactions, daily routines, and sleep. Occupational therapy helps individuals with ADHD build on their strengths and develop strategies to support attention, regulate behavior, and improve participation in meaningful and structured activities across different life settings.
